Panel: The Intersection of AI and Business


The National Black MBA Association invites you join a discussion about the intersection AI & Business with a distinguished panel that has real world experience in applying artificial intelligence to their respective markets.

The panel will be moderated by Steven Bryant (Technologist and Futurist at Panelists include Dr. William Ford (Data Science Director, formerly of Chegg), Ayori Selassie (Product Marketing Manager at Salesforce), Emmanuel Matthews (Machine Intelligence Program Manager at Google), and Dwayne Samuels (Founder and CEO at Samelogic).

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with others in the Business and Technology communities, and also learn about NBMBAA membership. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Dwayne Samuels’ focus and integrity has served him well on his entrepreneurial journey. He has co-founded 3 startups and currently runs Samelogic, a firm that heavily uses computer vision and AI. Samelogic’s software can analyze video feedback to provide businesses a rich understanding of how customers feel about their experiences. Most recently, Samelogic has released Emotion-Emoji, software that adds emotional value to emojis.


Ayori “Selfpreneur“ Selassie - Salesforce

Ayori “Selfpreneur” Selassie, author, speaker and Product Marketing Manager for Salesforce’s Einstein line, inspires others to be their best selves. In her Salesforce role, she promotes “AI for Everyone” using Einsteins portfolio of solutions. She invented the Life Model Canvas for personal development ( Most recently, Ayori has been honored with the GHC Women in Computing Award by the Anita Borg Institute of Women in Technology.

Dr. William Ford is a renowned leader in the analytics and data science community. He has built and/or led data science teams at Chegg, Predixion, and Alpine Data Labs. He has published and given talks about predictive analytics and big data in business. His most recent article titled “Three Principles to Improve your Company’s ROI on Predictive Analytics” can be found in CIOReview’s 2018 Predictive Analytics special edition.

Emmanuel Matthews, a Machine Intelligence Program Manager at Google AI, owes his success to a combination of innovation strategy, product excellence, and organizational behavior. In his role, he manages a large portfolio of AI features launching in various Google products and is on the US Delegation for AI standards. In 2017, Emmanuel was named a Black Enterprise Modern Man of Distinction.
